Under their new Musical Director Susan Nares the West Cork Choral Singers are returning to song. Like so many others performing and arts organisations the WCCS went into lockdown so that rehearsals and the programme went into a state akin to suspended animation. All that is about to change as they launch two interesting concerts in wonderfully atmospheric venues with a beautiful programme for this November.
Friday 26th November 2021 - 8.00pm
All Saints Church, Drimoleague
Saturday 27th November 2021- 8.00pm
St Fachtna’s Cathedral, Rosscarbery
West Cork Choral Singers is offering a free Concert with a retiring collection as, like all arts bodies in the current times, they need help to be able to put on concerts like this for West Cork Communities. They are presenting an evening of Sacred music, readings and candle lighting ceremony led by interfaith minister Reverend Jane Killingbeck. They've been lucky enough to have the support of Father Liam at All Saints Church in Drimoleague for our first performance on 26th November at 8pm and Dean Peters for their second performance at Rosscarbery Cathedral on 27th November at 8pm. Many thanks for the generosity of both parishioners in hosting these events. The choir are offering these performances as an opportunity for communities to come together to acknowledge all we have been through during the pandemic. The music director Susan Nares has put together a programme that includes some beautiful readings and a range of sublime choral music dating from the renaissance to the present day.
An evening of music, poetry and reflection for all those affected by the pandemic.
