Calling all O’Mahonys / O’Mahoneys !
The O’Mahony Society is an international association that brings together members and friends of the wider global O'Mahony family. Our mission is to promote the study of our family’s history foster an interest in Irish genealogy, culture, history and our shared heritage, to support the restoration and preservation of historical sites liked to our ancestral family, while nurturing a sense of community and friendship among our members.
O’ Mahony family and friends from around the world are invited to attend our 70th Anniversary Gathering in Ireland, which will take place : 13-15 June, 2025. This special event is open to both O Mahony Society members and the general public. If you wish to attend The Society Dinner on Saturday evening 14th June please register your interest via the website (for numbers).
The final day will include “ The Gathering” which will see the clan gather from 1.30pm, Sunday, 15 June at Rath Raithleann, the cradle of the Clan (Gurranes/ Templemartin area -Eircode P72TD77). Why not bring a picnic blanket and have lunch at the ancestral homestead from the onsite food & ice-cream trucks. At 3pm, Prof. Billy O’Brien, (UCC – Archaeology) will address those gathered about the significance of the ancient site, the excavations and his expertise in leading the dig and the findings.
The base for the weekend’s activities will be Coolcower House, Macroom. This is shaping up to be a fun weekend with events such as get togethers, a dinner, a tour and online talks and the AGM which will be a virtual event allowing many unable to travel to attend virtually.
It all kicks off on Friday 13th with a meet and greet at Coolcower House from 6pm ‘til late. A casual gathering to meet with friends and to make new friends. You might even meet a cousin or two along the way.
